PROSPEROUS WORK : JOSEPH CASE
BACKGROUND
Joseph was an outstanding man who lived more than 3,000 years ago.
He was originally a hebrew, betrayed by his brothers and sold to slave finder who later on bring him to Egypt.
He was deprived and work as slave in a government authority, officer of Pharaoh house.
The Lord made everything that he’s done success and his master pleased with him by the good work he was doing,
The master trust him and give him the full authority of the house.
(Gen 39:3 And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.
And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.)
He was then thrown in jail, by accusation of the master’s wife that he tried to rape her
And in jail, Joseph again had grace from the Lord that every responsibility he has were done in a satisfactory mannner.
(Gen 39:23 The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand; because the LORD was with him, and that which he did, the LORD made it to prosper.)
Until one day, he has the opportunity from God to approach the King of Egypt, the Pharaoh

And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.
Again, the Lord made Joseph plan succeed. In the event of famine, even all people from other countries come to Egypt for food.
Gen 41:57 And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph for to buy corn; because that the famine was so sore in all lands.
LESSON LEARNT
Prosper is the word used in the King James version to describe the result of what Joseph did in Potifar’s house, jail, and Pharaoh palace.
The writer does not use the word, “succeed”, “accomplish” or “finish”, which create question in my mind.
Until, I understand now after relates with my director in my company that he wants a reasonable profit margin for the business.
I believe Joseph was in charge also of Potifar’s business, that he carefully managed and brought prosper in whatever he was doing.
I imagine he control the purchasing price, managed the stock, make the accounting report, and make sure that nobody cheat on his master.
He act on behalf of his master’s property like they are his own property. And the most important thing God give him wisdom to managed them all.
So, the word prosper means under his hand, Potifar get a good profit from the management of Joseph.
So the job and responsibility that Joseph has was not taken for granted. There are two factors involved.
He did it in an accountable manner and God bless him.
God wants us to be prosper. He does not just made us prosper without us being accountable.
He sees whether we are accountable of everything we are doing. On His time, the tree will bear fruit and the results are abundant.
Being accountable means that we are not doing something just for the sake of doing it. Not just finish, or just accomplish but to also prosper.
Therefore, we need to know the reason and do whatever it takes to achieve the goals of what we are doing.
God will bless us to be more creative at work, and define what we need to do.
Under God’s hand all thing we do with an accountable manner will be prosper, because it is nothing but God intention to make us prosper.
Be blessed,
